Terms & Conditions

Last updated: January 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, surf lessons, camps, equipment hire, and activities provided by Natasha & Gerard Holdings Ltd, trading as Tramore Surf School (“we”, “us”, “our”). By making a booking or participating in any activity, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These Terms form part of the contract between you and Tramore Surf School.

1. Bookings & contract formation

A contract is formed between the customer and Tramore Surf School once a booking is confirmed by us, whether:

  • In writing
  • By email
  • Online via our booking system
  • Or verbally

For late or telephone bookings where written confirmation is not possible in advance, the agreement shall be deemed a verbal contract.

The person making the booking:

  • Accepts responsibility for payment for all participants included in the booking
  • Confirms they have authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of all participants (including minors)
  • Is responsible for ensuring all participants are aware of and comply with these Terms & Conditions

By completing a booking, you accept these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all participants.

2. Booking fees & exclusions

  • A booking/processing fee may apply to online bookings
  • Booking fees are non-refundable
  • Prices are subject to change but confirmed bookings will be honoured at the agreed price

3. Sessions, tides & sea conditions

Surfing and water-based activities are dependent on weather, tides, and sea conditions.

  • Lesson days and times may vary to suit tide and wave conditions
  • Tramore Surf School reserves the right to cancel, postpone, relocate, or modify sessions if conditions are unsuitable or unsafe

If Tramore Surf School cancels a session due to unsuitable conditions:

  • We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule to an alternative date
  • If rescheduling is not possible a credit note may be issued at our discretion

Missed sessions by participants cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
Once a course, camp, or block of lessons has commenced, all refunds are void due to limited spaces and instructor allocations.

4. Cancellations – lessons & camps

Due to limited availability and instructor-to-participant ratios, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • More than 14 days’ notice: Full refund
  • Less than 14 days’ notice: 50% refund
  • Less than 2 days’ notice: No refund

Where a discounted block of lessons has been purchased, any refund will be calculated:

  • Based on lessons already delivered
  • At the undiscounted single-lesson rate
  • Less the total amount already paid

All cancellations must be made by email (not by phone call) and are effective from the date received by Tramore Surf School.

5. Equipment hire cancellations

  • A full refund will be issued if cancellation is made at least 24 hours prior to the hire time
  • No refund will be issued once equipment has been paid for and collected

No refund will be offered if:

  • A medical condition becomes apparent after the activity has commenced and participation is deemed unsafe by instructors
  • A participant refuses to follow safety instructions or surf school procedures and is excluded for safety reasons

6. Booking changes

  • All booking changes are subject to availability
  • If changes cannot be accommodated, payments or deposits are non-refundable

For group bookings:

  • Reductions in participant numbers must be notified at least 48 hours in advance
  • Changes made less than 48 hours before the session will be charged based on the original group size

7. Weather during sessions

During sessions, management reserves the right to:

  • Modify or shorten activities if conditions change
  • Replace water-based activities with land-based or safety-focused alternatives
  • Reschedule sessions where necessary

No refunds will be issued where sessions are modified for safety reasons.

8. Medical conditions & fitness

All participants must:

  • Disclose any medical conditions, injuries, illnesses, allergies, medications, or relevant health information prior to participation
  • Confirm they have a basic swimming ability suitable for open-water activities

Tramore Surf School accepts no liability for any loss, injury, or incident arising from failure to disclose relevant medical or fitness information.

9. Participant behaviour & safety

All participants must:

  • Follow instructions from instructors and staff at all times
  • Behave responsibly and safely
  • Respect other participants, staff, and equipment

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate participation, without refund, where a participant’s behaviour places themselves or others at risk or breaches safety procedures.

10. Equipment responsibility

Tramore Surf School takes reasonable steps to ensure all equipment is safe and well maintained.

Participants are responsible for:

  • Checking equipment before use
  • Reporting any damage immediately
  • Any loss or damage caused while equipment is in their possession, beyond normal wear and tear

11. Risk acknowledgement

Surfing, paddleboarding, sea swimming, and outdoor water activities carry inherent risks, even when supervised by qualified instructors.

By booking or participating, all participants acknowledge:

  • The inherent risks involved in water and outdoor activities
  • That participation is voluntary
  • That activities are undertaken at their own risk

12. Liability & assumption of risk

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Participation in all activities is entirely at the participant’s own risk
  • Tramore Surf School, its owners, employees, instructors, and agents accept no responsibility or liability for:
    • Personal injury
    • Illness or death
    • Loss or damage to personal property
    • Consequential or indirect loss
    • Third-party claims

Except where such loss or injury is caused directly by the proven negligence of Tramore Surf School.

Participants acknowledge and agree that:

  • They assume full responsibility for any events, injuries, or losses arising during participation
  • They are responsible for their own safety and wellbeing during both supervised and non-supervised activities
  • In the case of non-supervised equipment hire, they confirm they have sufficient surfing and swimming ability to safely participate

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted under Irish law.

Tramore Surf School accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought to the beach, shop, or activity areas.

14. Children & minors

  • Children under 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian

These Terms & Conditions operate in conjunction with our activity-specific disclaimer forms, including:

  • Surf lesson and equipment hire disclaimers

Where applicable, participants (or parents/guardians) will be required to sign additional disclaimers confirming assumption of risk, medical information, and swimming ability. These disclaimers form part of the overall agreement between the participant and Tramore Surf School.
